This auditorium was established by local Confucian scholars to worship the teaching and moral of Yi Yulgok(1536∼1584), the great scholar in the mid Jocheon dynasty, in the 7th year of King Gwanghaegun).
In the first year of King Hyojong(1650), this auditorium was named to Jaun, and then in the 39th year of King Sukjong(17B), his scholars Kim Jang-Saeng(1548∼1631) and Park Se-Chae(1632∼1695) were enshrined together. It worked to worship the ancestors and to execute the regional education.
However, Jaun auditorium was abolished by the order of Daewongun in the 5th year of King Gohong in the late Joseon (1868). Then, in 1970, Jaun auditorium was restored by the fund of Confucian scholars and the national funding, and the circumference of the auditorium was improved in 1973.
As the building of the auditorium, there are a shrine of octagon roof and triple gate. Outside of the fence, Myojeongbi(tablet) was installed. The shrine has 3 rooms in the front and 3 rooms in the side and was built on the high site.
In the front of the shrine, the main hall, the eastern house, study room, wicket door and outer triple gate were newly built. Inside of the shrine, the memorial tablets of Kim Jang-Saeng and Park Se-Chae are placed in the left and right side from the portrait scroll of Yi Yulgok. A sacrificial rite is held in every August of the lunar calendar.
